Rockland, ME, December 23, 2020 — The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) invites artists of all ages to take part in an ArtLab for All Ages workshop on Saturday, January 2, from 2 to 4pm on Facebook Live.

Participants will join ArtLab Educator Alexis Iammarino to create abstract and  intuitive compositions in 2D and 3D form, using textile and craft techniques like sewing, quilt piecing, and fabric dyeing with household spices and teas. Taking creative lead from 2020 Biennial artists Baxter Koziol and Isabelle Maschal O’Donnell to connect the practice of painting with fiber arts and object making.

In response to CDC recommendations, the workshop will stream live on facebook.com/cmcanow from 2:00 – 4:00 PM. For those tuning in locally, there are 15 ArtLab art kits available for pick-up during business hours at CMCA on Wednesday and Thursday, December 30 and 31, and Saturday, January 2, free of charge. Participants are encouraged to explore the galleries or visit the virtual tour online at cmcanow.org/virtual-tours in advance of the workshop. For more information, email Alexis Iammarino at aiammarino@cmcanow.org
