CMCA is Open!
In line with the latest guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, fully vaccinated visitors are no longer required to wear face coverings at CMCA.
CMCA still requires unvaccinated visitors to wear masks. We ask this out of consideration for our staff, fellow visitors and youth who take part in our on-site education programs.
CMCA is committed to maintaining a respectful, safe, and inclusive experience for all our visitors. We support anyone’s decision to continue wearing a face covering, regardless of vaccination status.
To help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all, we ask that you observe the following guidelines:
- Sanitize your hands upon entering and at stations throughout your visit
- Please refrain from visiting if you have a cough or fever
Thank you for your cooperation.
Gallery attendants and front desk staff are happy to answer any questions you may have about CMCA’s COVID-19 protocols—or the art!
And if you are not yet ready to visit in person, you can still stay engaged online, with a Virtual Tour of our Biennial exhibition, Art Lab art instruction videos, Lunch/Break Curatorial Tours and Artist Toolbox professional development offerings and more!
Experience the art of this generation and the next. CMCA’s exhibitions and educational programs are made to inspire and attract visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
CMCA’s striking building, designed by architect Toshiko Mori, provides exceptional exhibition space for the presentation of work by contemporary artists connected to Maine. The CMCA Shop features a range of books, gifts and objects by primarily Maine artisans and designers.
Located in the heart of Rockland’s downtown arts district, CMCA is in walking distance of the Farnsworth Art Museum and Wyeth Center, the Strand Theatre, and dozens of art galleries, restaurants, and hotels.
