THREE WAYS TO DONATE
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Stimulus CARES Act suspends limitations in 2020 for donors who itemize contributions made to charitable organizations as well as allowing non-itemizers to use a “universal deduction” to itemize up to $300 in 2020. Every donation helps CMCA continue to thrive and serve its community of artists, students, educators, and art lovers of all ages.

IRA Charitable Rollover
The IRA Charitable Rollover is a great tool for qualified individuals make a lasting impact on CMCA – tax free!
Upon reaching retirement, individuals may find that they have saved more than enough. The IRA Charitable Roller is one of the most efficient ways to give back.
Passed into permanent law in 2015, the IRA Charitable Rollover allows taxpayers age 70 ½ or older to transfer up to $100,000 annually from their IRA accounts directly to charity – without first having to recognize the distribution as income.
IRA Charitable Rollover limitations:
- The donor must be age 70½ or older.
- The cap on annual IRA rollovers is $100,000.
- The contribution must be a direct gift to a charity (no planned gifts).
- The distribution must be made directly or postmarked to the charity by December 31.
- Donors cannot take tax-deductions from these gifts, as these gifts are not taxed.
To make a gift through an IRA Charitable Rollover, please contact us directly at 207-701-5005.
Provide a Planned Gift
Become a member of The Nellie L. Taft Legacy Society by making a planned gift to CMCA. Planned gifts include bequests, life income plans (charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts), charitable lead trusts, or gifts of life insurance policy. We would be happy to discuss how we can help you carry out your long-term philanthropic goals. For more information contact: Jean Thompson at jthompson@cmcanow.org or +1 207.701.5005.
Matching gifts
Does your company match contributions to non-profits? Please check with the human resources department at your company to take advantage of this great way to double (or triple!) the impact of your philanthropic dollar. For more information, feel free to talk to us – there may also be more opportunistic ways that you or your company can contribute.
