Rockland, ME, April 6, 2017 — Artist Alex Katz, one of the world’s top artists, has created a new fine art print, Flowers 2, 2017, to benefit the Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) in Rockland, Maine. Published by Lococo Fine Art, the print measures 22 ¾ inches by 38 ½ inches, and features Maine wildflowers in yellow, orange, and lavender in an all over pattern against a white background. Printed in archival pigment inks on Crane Museo Max 365gsm paper in an edition of 100, each print is signed and numbered by the artist on the front. A limited number of prints remain available for purchase directly from CMCA at $2,000 each. The full purchase price of each print benefits CMCA. Contributions above the purchase price of the print are fully tax-deductible. Prints may be purchased online at cmcanow.org/shop or by calling 207-701-5005.

Known internationally for his iconic representational paintings, Alex Katz (b. 1927) has been a summer resident of Lincolnville, Maine, for more than six decades and is a longtime supporter of CMCA. He has called the new CMCA building, which opened to the public in June 2016, “a game-changer for Maine art.” Designed by noted architect Toshiko Mori, the striking new CMCA building features 5,500 square feet of exhibition space, an ArtLab classroom, gift shop, and public courtyard.

Located at 21 Winter Street in downtown Rockland’s burgeoning arts district, CMCA is the state’s premiere venue for contemporary art, presenting a year-round schedule of changing exhibitions and educational programs for all ages.
