Rockland, ME, October 2, 2020 — The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) in Rockland will host a full-day professional workshop for Maine art educators in partnership with the Maine Arts Education Association (MAEA) on Saturday, October 17 from 9:30am to 3:30pm. Pre-registration for the workshop is required, participants may register at cmcanow.org.

The daylong workshop “Activating Hybrid Learning with Contemporary Art” will look to the diverse themes and artworks in the CMCA 2020 Biennial to discover a range of artmaking processes and ideas to heighten curriculum and personal practice. CMCA staff will lead participants through a gallery tour, hands-on activities and informational sessions on concepts and techniques for incorporating contemporary art into classrooms, both in-person and online. The event will conclude with a Biennial artist talk.
