The exhibition will showcase artworks by 12 students from across the state of Maine selected for The Congressional Art Competition, a nationwide art competition for high school students, held each spring, and is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives.
First-place winners will have their artwork professionally framed and sent to Washington D.C., where they will hang in the Cannon Tunnel, beneath the U.S. Capitol.
The exhibition is made possible by Maine’s Congressional Offices of Chellie Pingree and Jared Golden, Maine College of Art & Design, the Maine Arts Commission, and in collaboration with the Center for Maine Contemporary Art. Admission is free during weekly public hours.
