Tripping The Light Ekphrastic
Come savor and share art with words. John Paul Caponigro (internationally exhibited artist and published writer) will lead a special event exploring CMCA’s current exhibits. The genre of ekphrastic writing (creative writing in response to art) is currently experiencing a renaissance, deepening and diversifying our enjoyment of art. Poetry’s extreme versatility and compactness make it an ideal form to practice. In this hour-and-a-half-long event, John Paul will share famous examples of ekphrastic writing and guide participants through a series of writing prompts that are guaranteed to offer you new insights now and in the future. Bring your favorite tools to write with!
