Sunday Salon | Shelter

January 31, 2021 | 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm EST

Sunday, January 31| 3pm | Zoom

Join CMCA for an engaging conversation between artists and curators included in the virtual exhibition, Shelter (Earth, House, Body, Spirit). Annika Earley and Tessa Greene O’Brien, co directors of Able Baker Contemporary will speak on their curatorial decisions behind the timely exhibition. Artists Jeane Cohen, Jessica Gandolf, and Brice Garrett will also share their inspirations behind making the work included in Shelter.

As noted by Earley and O’Brien, “Some artists offer shelter by grounding the viewer in the underbrush; some use rich textures to explore the care, tenderness, and occasional exhaustion that bodily shelters can offer to the self and others; and some look deeply inward towards the spirit as a reprieve.” Hear from both curators and artists on what “Shelter” means to them, followed by Q&A. The presentation will also stream to Facebook Live.
