The Center for Maine Contemporary Art is pleased to host 2024 professional development open to all Maine educators, with support from the Maine Arts Education Association (MAEA). This year’s MAEA professional development theme In Situ: Art and Place, refers to the connections that artists make to the world around them through thematic and material choices. Educators will explore how they can incorporate the work of contemporary Maine artists into curricular discussions about history, culture, and the environment. Museum education staff will guide participants through a variety of activities and ideas for incorporating art into your classrooms. We’ll also take a close look at themes, dialogues, and curiosities across our current exhibitions. Imagine, explore, and create as a community of educators of all ages during this one-day workshop. Registration closing 5:00pm on Tuesday, April 9.
