3:30–5:00 | CMCA ArtLab
5th – 8th Grade
Center for Maine Contemporary Art, OUT Maine and The Landing Place are partnering to offer a Look Inside drop-in engagement where participants have the opportunity to engage with artworks by living Maine artists and participate in hands-on art making through our Open Studios demonstrations and self-guided prompts. This in-person workshop is held every second Thursday of the month from 3:30–5:00, participants must register through OUTMaine or The Landing Place.
OUT Maine’s goal is to create more welcoming and affirming communities for Maine’s diverse queer youth in all of their intersectional identities. We seek to change the very systems that serve them: schools, health care, foster care, community organizations, and more. Our state-wide, three pronged approach is to support LGBTQ+ youth and their families and allies with specialized programs, empower queer youth to be their most authentic selves through events, and to educate health care providers, educators, and other professionals in young people’s lives.
The Landing Place provides compassionate, comprehensive, and community-based support to youth in MIdcoast Maine. It is a welcoming, non-judgmental, and reliable safe haven where local youth can respectfully engage in activities, spend time with friends, learn new skills, receive mentoring and support from trained and experience staff, and access free services and resources.
