Continuous Painting Zine
Inspired by Shinique Smith and the concept of continuity, participants will create a larger mixed media piece, which will then be transformed into a small book or zine. Artists will learn about the simple technique of how to fold paper to make their own mini book inspired by the large, expressive works made by Smith.
About the instructor
Tori Marsh is an embroidery artist, educator and mother based out of Rockland, Maine. Marsh has been using embroidery as a form of drawing for the past 8 years. Her surreal “wild women” draw upon the notion of goddess-like grace and power, but most importantly, they’re meant to be humorous. Tori is obsessed with Icelandic/Scandinavian knitwear, cross stitch patterns, quilts, and other textiles. Her embroideries have been shown across the country and she has had the privilege of attending residencies from Canada to Iceland.
