First Friday | October

October 5, 2018 | 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Friday, October 5 | 5-8pm
Free and open to the public

Get the HOLE story! Stop by our courtyard during October’s First Friday Art Walk as we celebrate the Maine origins of the donut hole. Gather around the fire pit to hear artist Alexis Iammarino read from her recently published catalogue, Hole History: Origins of the American-style Donut. Books will be available for sale and signing.

To mark the occasion, Genevieve Johnson, one of the original Hole History artists, will recreate her elegant and edible donut tower piece, Infinitesimal. Hot cider and seasonal donuts by Willow Bake Shoppe will also be served.

This event is part of a 2018 Kindling Fund project awarded to Iammarino and collaborator Maeve O’Regan to produce a catalogue documenting the 2016 exhibition, which featured the work of over fifty artists responding to the origin tale of the hole in the donut.

The Kindling Fund is a grant program administered by SPACE Gallery as part of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Regional Regranting Network.
