June | Abstract Fragments
Join in a livestream ArtLab workshop led by Community Arts Educator Alexis Iammarino on Saturday, June 5, from 2 to 4pm on Facebook Live.
Taking our inspiration from painter David Row’s exhibit The Shape of Things, you’re invited to create a series of shaped paintings that explore ways to apply pattern and geometric illusions.
Following the livestream, participants are invited to join a Zoom call at 3:40pm to share and discuss their work. Email Alexis at aiammarino@cmcanow.org for the Zoom link.
Please note: ArtLab Supply Kits are available for pick up at CMCA for Saturday’s workshop during business hours on Wednesday 6/2 – Saturday 6/5. They’re packed with goodness and with plenty to get you started.
Tips for creating at home:
- Clear an area for art making in a space where you and others have room to create; be sure to cover the area with newspaper, an old towel or tablecloth, or other protective covering.
- Cut on appropriate and durable surfaces.
Suggested materials:
- Salvaged cardboard to cut into shapes – check your recycling bin!
- Scissors, X-acto blade, assorted brushes, markers, pens, or other painting / drawing supplies you enjoy to create with
