Every Tree Tells A Story

ArtLab is collaborating with environmental artist Pamela Moulton to create elements for her upcoming public art project Every Tree Tells A Story, which will be presented at a TBA venue in Portland, Maine later this year. Join us to create work for Moulton’s installation, including painting buoys, weaving orange, peach, and pink materials into netting, unraveling floating rope and fishing net to create long flowing tresses. Try on Neptunes unraveled rope cape or crown. Stuff pink bait bags with colorful found treasures. Surprises await you!

Moulton builds large scale art installations that engage the public, sparking conversations about environmental problems our planet faces. Her present work uses abandoned fishing gear to create whimsical interactive sculptures that are both weirdly fun but also show nature’s perilous beauty. These playful immersive sculptures are created through community hands and it takes an army!

Pamela Moulton currently resides in Maine after spending 25 years in France. A textile and installation artist, she received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and Villa Arson, France and her MFA from Ecole Superieure d’Aix en Provence. Pamela worked in New York City as a set designer and art director while continuing to exhibit abroad as a fine artist. Her projects range from designing a museum around the senses, teaching students from 2- 106 years old and managing Hewnoaks artist residency program, and most recently she collaborated with the Arcadia Earth in Las Vegas.

RSVP is free for all ages; required to attend. To accommodate safe community participation we have three time slots available for drop-in, please read carefully.
