ArtLab Vacation Week Video Series
Monday – Thursday, April 20-23
Free and open to all
Artists of all ages are invited to join ArtLab educators Mia Bogyo and Alexis Iammarino for fun, hands-on projects you can try at home!
Looking to the varied artistic processes and ideas exhibited in Skirting the Line, participants will learn a variety of painting and image-making techniques to portray visual stories, experiences, and histories.
Participate in real time or re-visit the videos when you need a creative pick-me-up! Videos will posted daily to this page and facebook.com/cmcanow by 10:30 am.
Each afternoon at 3:45pm, Alexis and Mia will host a virtual show ‘n tell via Zoom! To participate, email mbogyo@cmcanow.org for the Zoom Link and Password. You’ll receive how-to’s on sharing photos of your process and finished projects. We want to see what you make!
A few preparations to make in advance of ArtCamp:
- Get inspired by listening to the audio guide and exploring the Skirting the Line virtual tour.
- Raid the recycling bin! Set aside 1) empty pantry item boxes such as those for pasta/crackers/cookies/cereal 2) clean brown paper shopping bags, stiff cardboard scraps, and magazines/newspapers.
- Gather materials: an assortment of mark-making tools such as paints and brushes, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, chalks or pastels – the more the merrier! You’ll also need scissors and some heavy paper, cardboard and/or small canvas boards to work on. Tape and household glue are good to have on hand.
- Clear an area for art-making at your kitchen table or on the floor in a space where you and others have room to create; be sure to cover the area with newspaper, an old towel or tablecloth, or other protective covering to prevent any inadvertent damage!
