Make Your Mark
In this exploratory workshop we will experiment with a variety of mark-making media on paper. Inspired by the work of Yashua Klos, we will create a collection of painted, doodled and printed papers that can be used for a variety of creative purposes from collages to card-making. Participants that complete this workshop will be encouraged to enroll in Art to Wear, the June Adult Workshop in which we will use our mark-making methods and visual experiments from this workshop to create wearable artworks. The following workshop runs similar to our ArtLab for All with a strong focus in the process and exploration of materials.
Tara Morin is an educator and artist living in Rockland. She defines her work as collecting and configuring shape and color, often integrating the “detritus of daily life” into her work. She uses found materials to create visually complex images and objects, arranging and rearranging to produce painting, drawing, collage and sculpture. Her aim is to reimagine the found material as something both familiar and foreign.
