Community Artist Educator Alexis Iammarino will lead a second session of Intro to Mold Making + Casting for adults in January. This two-day workshop is designed for adults who want to explore skills to create 3D sculptural forms. The workshop draws inspiration from our Main Gallery exhibit, Spatial Relations, featuring works made from cast concrete, ceramic, wood and mixed media. In session two, participants will explore casting small objects in plaster, and will have an opportunity to focus on wax molding to create basic sculptural forms as a way to introduce concepts and techniques that participants can apply to their own art making going forward.
All materials included. This workshop is offered in connection with CMCA’s Artist Toolbox which is made possible by a grant from the Quimby Family Foundation.
Alexis Iammarino is the CMCA’s Community Arts Educator and also serves as the founder and lead mural director of Arts in Action and co-director of Interloc Projects. She is a multidisciplinary artist herself and practices an all ages teaching model.
Please note: To ensure safety of our community, participants must provide proof of vaccination to attend workshop.
