Rockland, ME, February 10, 2017 — The Center for Maine Contemporary Art (CMCA) invites participants of all ages to take part in ArtLab workshops during the upcoming school vacation week. Four workshops will be offered beginning Monday, February 20 through Thursday, February 23, from 2 to 4pm each day. All workshops are free of charge and appropriate for all ages. Participants can drop-in for one or all four workshops.

The theme of vacation week ArtLabs is Edge(s) Out: Paint, Print and Shape! Each day will feature a 2-D or 3-D project inspired by the work of artists Sam Cady, Mark Wethli and David Driskell, on view in the current exhibitions. Painted puzzles, block printing and mixed media projects are just some of the fun activities that invite you to create beyond the frame!

February vacation ArtLabs are led by Lead Artist and Educator Alexis Iammarino. Alexis received her Masters in Community Art from Maryland Institute College of Art and is also an artist member and educator at the Steel House in Rockland.

ArtLab is supported in part by the Milton and Sally Avery Art Foundation, the Davis Family Foundation, the Reny Charitable Foundation, the Margaret E. Burnham Trust, and individual donors.
