Everyone loves Bruce, so let’s name a gallery after him!

Curator, collector, champion of art and artists extraordinaire, Bruce Brown has devoted much of his life to supporting and shaping the cultural life of Maine.

As curator of CMCA (formerly Maine Coast Artists) from 1987 to 2006, Bruce introduced the work of hundreds, if not thousands, of contemporary artists to audiences in Maine. He’s launched careers, published catalogs, produced groundbreaking exhibitions, and collected passionately. CMCA would not be the institution it is today—indeed art in Maine would not be what it is today—without Bruce’s avid participation and leadership.

Here’s our chance to show Bruce just how much we appreciate him.

Together, let’s raise the funds necessary to name the central gallery at the new CMCA – The Bruce Brown Gallery.

Thanks to several generous donors every contribution to the Bruce Brown Gallery fund will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $250,000. Please make a pledge or immediate contribution to the Bruce Brown Gallery fund. Gifts at every level are appreciated. It all contributes to honoring Bruce—now, and for generations to come.

Help spread the word, share this page with others.

Thank you!
