Mixed Media Maps

Artist Dan Mills uses maps as a framework to explore complex ideas and data about current and historic events. Taking inspiration from his art in the exhibition Human Topographies, create your own unique work of art using the discarded maps, atlases, and other recycled papers provided. Try highlighting or hiding select parts of your map by overpainting or writing. What stories or ideas can you suggest using these methods? Take your repurposed map to the next level by using it as material for collage or transforming it into sculpture with paper folding.
