In this weeklong workshop, artists will create free-standing sculptures made from unconventional and recycled materials that will become part of a collective work. Inspired by the dialogue and interplay between works that were featured in the Spatial Relations exhibit. Artists will work both independently and collaboratively to create three-dimensional artworks that have their own unique voices while also speaking to one another. The work we do in the studio will emphasize both individual process and collective problem-solving.
ArtLab Intensive after school classes invite students ages 10 – 13 years old to engage in contemporary artworks and artists. These week-long classes empower young artists to dive deep into one area of study, observing, critiquing, and applying skills to personal artworks.
Tara Morin is an educator and artist living in Rockland. She defines her work as collecting and configuring shape and color, often integrating the “detritus of daily life” into her work. She uses found materials to create visually complex images and objects, arranging and rearranging to produce painting, drawing, collage and sculpture. Her aim is to reimagine the found material as something both familiar and foreign.
