This month ArtLab is teaming up with Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs to offer a special workshop exploring art and science. After seeing MELT DOWN, we’ll look at climate change right here in Rockland. Ren Bettencourt, of Bow Seat Ocean Awareness, will show us how acidification in the ocean is affecting our very own lobsters, sea urchins, and other beloved shelled creatures. Using specially treated paper we’ll paint seascapes or sea creatures, using various agents, like vinegar and soapy water to reveal the colors of water out of balance with nature.
