Join artist Chris Doyle and CMCA Executive Director + Chief Curator Timothy Peterson for a lively discussion of Doyle’s current exhibition The Fabricators on view through May 8. The exhibition premieres Doyle’s 2021 digital animation, The Fabricators, presented on a trio of screens spanning 48-feet in length. The video features a group of related machines locked in loops of perpetual labor. As with an anatomical system, the figures and mechanisms have discrete functions that contribute to the life of a larger organism. As the figures are anthropomorphic, viewers are left to wonder about the future of human activity as production is transferred from man to machine. The exhibition is made possible by a grant from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and the generous support of donors to the Suzette McAvoy Exhibition Fund.
