I grew up in Boothbay Harbor and am the daughter of florists. After graduating from the University of Maine I was an artist in residence at the Maine Correctional Center where I created an art program for men and women prisoners. I have lived on Deer Isle for thirty years. I am a helpline volunteer for Next Step-member organization of the Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence. For the last two years I have been printing my DEFENDROE design on articles of clothing to help support reproductive rights. I play keyboard in a rock band. I am the mother of two sons. I make things.
