Richard Keen is from Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. After receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Arts Degree he moved to Maine in 1999. Richard taught art in public schools until 2003 when he started subsidizing his life as an artist by working as a diver. Since then, he has maintained his studio at Ft. Andross Mill in Brunswick, Maine. He has artwork in private and public collections nationally. His most recent solo exhibitions were at Elizabeth Moss Galleries in Falmouth, ME, and The University of Maine Art Museum in Bangor, ME. Richard has received grants from the Maine Arts Commission, University of Rhode Island, and the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation. His work was included in the United States "Art in Embassies Program" and he has been a visiting artist at various educational institutions. His work has been reviewed in Art New England, Portland Press Herald, Maine Home and Design and Dispatch Magazine. He currently also shows with Abigail Ogilvy Gallery in Boston, MA, Courthouse Gallery Fine Arts in Ellsworth, ME and with George Marshall Store Gallery in York, ME.
