Pamela grew up in Maine, receiving her bachelor’s degree from UVM and Villa Arson, France in 1984. Residing in France for 23 years with her husband and son, she earned her MFA from the Ecole Supérieure d’Art d’ Aix en Provence, then studied choreography and education at IUFM Blois. Pamela’s work veered to collaborative large-scale community projects including: a traveling multi-sensory museum, costume and set design for a contemporary circus, public engagement professor for international programs, and residencies in over 100 schools where she created ephemeral and permanent public works of art with schools and their communities.  Returning to Maine 8 years ago, Pamela was honored to receive the Maine Visual Arts Fellowship, a Kindling Fund Grant, and two Artist Project Grants from the Maine Arts Commission. She teaches contemporary art to University students partnered with elders living with dementia. She uses her intergenerational art practice to advocate for seniors.  Summers she manages the Hewnoaks Artist Colony in Lovell, Maine and throughout the year dedicates herself to her own art practice in her South Portland studio.
