“The jumble of daily life awash in natural light keeps me itching to paint: table top, ocean top, city square. We’ve learned that we are not so much human molecules, but bacteria and water, not very different from the next person or our surroundings. Similarly, a painting’s constitution is not separate objects, but the pieces of color that objects and spaces divide into.”

Louise Bourne lives on the Blue Hill Peninsula. Her paintings are in public and private collections throughout the world.
