Born in 1940 Joyce Ellen Weinstein was raised in NYC and is now living in Westbrook Maine. She received an MFA from CCNY, attended The Brooklyn Museum Art School and The Art Students League of NYC. She earned fellowships to Mishkenot Sha’ananim, Jerusalem; The Social-Cultural Center, Prague; Blue Mountain Art Center, NY; Europos Parkas Museum of the Center of Europe, Vilnius, Lithuania and more. She painted a mural in Prague, in the first nonprofit center after fall of the Soviets. Her works are in collections of the Nat. Museum of Women in the Arts, Wash. DC; Hebrew Union Institute of Religion Museum, NYC; The Florida Holocaust Museum; Gallerie-Junge KunstWerkStart, Vienna, Austria; The Social-Cultural Center, Prague; Amnesty International; Einchen Americe, Princeton, NJ, The Jewish Museum Vilnius Lithuania, Terezin Museum Czech Republic and more.  She is in many private collections in the US and Europe. Weinstein is included in Fixing the World: Jewish American Artists of the Twentieth Century, by Ori B. Soltes, Brandies Division of New England University Press; The Book as Art, National Museum of Women in the Arts and many catalogues and articles. She received many honors and awards and was A Fulbright Senior Specialist. Three times finalist and once winner of the Metro DC Dance Awards, Scenic Design.
