Shari Broder has been living in Maine since 1983, but was born in New York City and grew up in Washington, DC. She has a B.A. in Studio Art from the University of Maryland. Shari has been “good at drawing" from a young age, but realized that this did not make someone a good artist! She thought she had nothing to say, so she went to law school and didn’t make much (except for lots of delicious food—another of her creative outlets) for a long time. Then she took a class at Portland Pottery and worked in clay for about a decade before returning to what feels most authentic for her: drawing and painting.
