Virtual Look Inside

VIRTUAL LOOK INSIDE | EDUCATORS PORTAL

We are excited to announce a new educational resource available to you! Virtual Tours of our exhibits have been available through the CMCA website since 2018. The Education staff has created a collection of free lesson plans that connect students and educators with Maine contemporary art. These lessons introduce students to contemporary artists with a connection to Maine, and to greater themes in contemporary art. The lessons have been designed with the National Core Arts Standards in mind. The goal of this initiative is to reach an even broader audience in Maine and increase exposure and access to contemporary art for all Maine students. Our online program is designed using the same structure as our Look Inside program.

About Virtual Look Inside Educator:
Tori received her BFA from Maine College of Art and MAT from School of Visual Arts. She spearheads our online platform. She is an embroidery artist, educator and mother. Marsh has been using embroidery as a form of drawing for the past 8 years. Her surreal “wild women” draw upon the notion of goddess-like grace and power, but most importantly, they’re meant to be humorous. She has been involved with our education programs first as an attendee, then teacher, and now staff member. Her expertise in creative lesson planning and motivation to share the works of contemporary artists throughout the state is a gift. Tori received the “2024 Outstanding Service to the Community” award from the Maine Art Educators Association.

This program is possible from the support of the Sherman Family Foundation and KHR McNeely Family Foundation.
