CMCA Announces Robert Wolterstorff as New Executive Director
Rockland, Maine | July 24th, 2024
Dear Friends of CMCA,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, I am pleased to announce the hiring of Robert Wolterstorff as our new Executive Director. Robert was most recently the Executive Director of the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, CT, where he oversaw completion of the New Bruce Campaign and construction of their new 40,000-square-foot art wing. The building opened with the largest museum show ever of the work of Maine artist Lois Dodd. Prior to that he was director of the Bennington Museum in Vermont, and of Victoria Mansion in Portland, Maine. This marks the beginning of what I am confident will be a new and exciting chapter in CMCA’s history. Robert will have the opportunity to lead us to a place of broader reach and deeper impact as the foremost contemporary arts organization in the State of Maine. I believe we will accomplish great things together. I hope you will all welcome Robert to CMCA, and continue to offer your enthusiastic support, for which we are all very grateful.
Warmest Regards,
