February ArtLab for All
Saturday, February 8 | 2:00–4:00pm
Instructor: Tori Marsh
Drop-in | Free and open to all!
Explore paper mosaics this month in the ArtLab! Inspired by Kyle Downs’ pixelated small works, we will use recycled and repurposed papers to create art that has little impact on the environment. In keeping with Downs’ love of hunting for materials, we will scavenge through the scrap bin, seeking out the perfect pieces of paper to complete our compositions.
About the instructor
Tori Marsh is an embroidery artist, educator and mother based out of Rockland, Maine. Marsh has been using embroidery as a form of drawing for the past 8 years. Her surreal “wild women” draw upon the notion of goddess-like grace and power, but most importantly, they’re meant to be humorous. Tori is obsessed with Icelandic/Scandinavian knitwear, cross stitch patterns, quilts, and other textiles. Her embroideries have been shown across the country and she has had the privilege of attending residencies from Canada to Iceland.
