Artful Living 2024
Tuesday, July 16th, 2024 | 9:30am – 4pm
Transportation leaves from and returns to CMCA, 21 Winter Street, Rockland, ME. Please note, space is limited for this event.
This year’s Artful Living Tour marks the 13th time CMCA is inviting members to experience how art is integrated and highlighted in unique homes and abundant gardens. This one might prove to be the best yet.
Registration begins at 9:30 at CMCA where coffee and tea will be available. At 10:00 we board an air-conditioned coach bound for Camden. Our first stop is the well-curated and designed home of Karin Thomas who had the original idea for artful living. Mimosas will be served in her garden.
Next we visit Marilyn Rockefeller’s new guest house and writer’s cottage on Howe Hill. We’re there to enjoy expansive views and feel at home in the two buildings. There’s much art to see, especially art Marilyn brought home from Cuba. Lunch and dessert catered by Dot’s will be served along with cold drinks and wine.
Our next stop is “Weatherend,” a gracious oceanfront home and property on Calderwood Lane in Rockport, with extensive gardens and works of contemporary art displayed throughout the house and grounds. It’s a special treat to visit this extraordinary site and home.
We end in Rockland’s South End at the contemporary home of Tish Taylor filled with whimsical art, vignette collections, exploding with color everywhere. The gardens, water features and outdoor spaces offer dynamic views of Penobscot Bay and Rockland Harbor. Cold drinks and bubbly will be accompanied with homemade biscotti – always a favorite ALT treat.
Guests will be offered a surprise spree at our favorite boutique, fourTWELVE on Rockland Main St., or return to CMCA.
One more special surprise – This year’s Artful Living tour will be led by former Executive Director and Chief Curator Suzette McAvoy.
July 16th promises to be CMCA’s signature event that you do not want to miss.
