Spend your Sunday morning exploring, making, and creating in the ArtLab studio during this community drop-in for adults. Learn how to blend watercolor and print making by creating your own intaglio style plate for watercolor! This hands-on session encourages play and spontaneity, helping you add unique textures, marks, and patterns to your paintings. Perfect for all skill levels, you’ll leave with new techniques to make your artwork truly special. Dive into creativity and see what you can create! Learn a new process, work on an independent project or play with materials with artists of all abilities. All materials supplied and free coffee provided by Rock City Café!
About the artist
Erica Qualey is an award winning watercolor artist and teacher who lives in the midcoast of Maine. She has exhibited internationally and is represented in private collections throughout the United States and Canada. She is a signature member of the New England Watercolor Society and has been published in the 19th edition of the yearly publication, Splash. She has led workshops for adults at Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, ArtWaves DMI on Mount Desert Island, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, and other art associations. She has participated in visiting artist programs in public schools and has run art programming for children through her local library.
Our Adult Makerspace is a monthly drop-in studio for adults, to meet other artists, makers, and creatives within the Midcoast community.
