I make collages and paintings which are themselves often based on collages. With my figurative paintings, I’m often drawn to the people and quiet dramas I encounter in everyday life. My collages and non-figurative paintings are largely unplanned and intuitive and I’m frequently surprised by what emerges. Layering – of paint, paper and meaning – is the through-line of my work.
I have mainly lived in the Boston area until 2017, when I began to split my time between Dorchester, Massachusetts and Owls Head, Maine.
