"Yellow Bell," by Charlie Hewitt

Lewiston native Charlie Hewitt is a painter, sculptor, and prominent printmaker with thirty-five solo exhibitions to his credit, including eighteen in New York. He is a master of his craft; his work balances gesture with sure calculation. In 2006 he had two one-person shows in Maine: at the Farnsworth Art Museum and the Bates College Museum of Art. His work is represented in museums across the country, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, the Library of Congress, and all the major museums in Maine. He is represented by Jim Kepner Fine Art in New York.
