Jim Flahaven grew up in South Dakota and Kansas and thinks that Maine is paradise.  He studied art at the University of North Texas and Ohio State.  He has exhibited his paintings throughout the United States and Canada.  He currently teaches drawing at the University of Southern Maine.  His studio is a large, old barn that has been absorbed into the city of Portland.
