Sam Cady’s prints, drawings, and shaped canvases are rigorous studies in atmosphere, form, and careful detail. His work is spare and unsentimental; it can also be deeply romantic. A distinguished teacher, Cady has work included in numerous public and private collections, including the Addison Gallery of American Art, the DeCordova, the Orlando Museum, and the Farnsworth. In 2010 he had a solo show at Mary Ryan in New York and an exhibition at Art House Gallery in Portland; this year he had a solo show at Howard Yeserski Gallery in Boston. He is represented by Caldbeck Gallery.
