Mary Armstrong lives in Georgetown, Maine, and paints her home territory. She builds up her landscapes with layers of oil and wax to reflect its luminous dance in all seasons. Armstrong also has studios in Venice, Italy, and Newton, Massachusetts, where she teaches painting at Boston College.
A graduate of Boston University and the Skowhegan School School of Painting and Sculpture, Armstrong has shown her work at the Victoria Munroe Gallery and Graham gallery in New York, the Portland Museum of Art, and throughout the U.S. and Ireland. Her recent series Troposphere @ 12 Kilometers of Heaven was exhibited at CMCA in spring of 2014.
