Linden Frederick’s elegiac views of Maine glow in a twilight that transforms an industrial stretch of waterfront into a poignant moment. A sodium light bathes a wharf in an orange, night-long sunrise; constellations of streetlights are anchored by a planet shining in the sky. Frederick studied in Canada and Italy and is one of Maine’s most distinguished artists. In 2009 he had a solo show at CMCA; he is represented by Forum Gallery in New York, where he had a solo show in 2010. His work is in the collections of many public and private collections, including the Arnot Art Museum in Elmira, New York, the Everhart Museum in Scranton, the Farnsworth Museum, the Ogunquit Museum, and the Portland Museum.
