Ellen Golden, "Left Hand," ink on paper, 7 x 5"

Ellen Golden builds her drawings from a molecular imagining of the natural world—her myriad small marks emerge into intriguing patterns.

After a gap of many years, Golden started drawing again in 2006, inspired by a class with Andrea Sulzer. She studied previously at the Art Students League and Barnard College in New York and with Rex Gorleigh in Princeton, New Jersey. Her work has been exhibited in group shows at ICON Gallery in Brunswick and Rose Contemporary Gallery in Portland.
